Artist Bio
I am a mixed-media sculptor making work that investigates the contradictory arenas of war with its dehumanizing destruction, and the biomedical field with its potential for repairing and augmenting our bodies. The media I use includes clay, metal, resin, wax, rubber, video and electronics.

Some of my work asks the viewer to observe, while other work invites the viewer to be a participant. In gallery and public spaces, my intention is to consider our choices. Art can act as a critical, non-didactic vehicle for individuals and communities to consider complex and divisive issues. It can touch emotional experiences and be an agent for healing.

My work has been exhibited in group shows locally, nationally and internationally, and received such recognitions as Featured Artist and Best in Show. Additionally, I have been awarded Minnesota-based grants.
