  • Edina Art Center

We are incredibly fortunate to have two wonderful Kansas City artists, Tommy Frank and Chandra DeBuse joining us for a one-day intensive workshop Thursday, June 16th from 10am - 4pm at the Edina Art Center!  Tommy and Chandra both use animal imagery to create playful narratives in their functional ceramic forms.  In this one-day demonstration workshop, the artists will demonstrate their individual approaches to both hand building and wheel throwing. Tommy will demonstrate silicone press molding and altering.  Chandra will work with soft clay slabs in conjunction with plywood drop molds and bisque hump molds. Both artists will address their unique approaches to surface with Tommy using texture and oxide washes to enhance his sculptural forms and Chandra using underglaze inlay, sgraffito and brushwork to create her imagery.
